BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Black History Month is a time to celebrate and remember all the ways that African Americans have contributed to US history and culture.
The history of Black History Month dates back to 1926 in the United States. At that time, an African-American historian named Carter G. Woodson founded a week that focused on celebrating the accomplishments of African Americans.
While Woodson’s idea began as a one-week celebration, it eventually became a month-long event called Black Heritage Month in the United States in 1976.

I HAVE A DREAM!

                     MARTIN LUTHER KING'S BIRTHDAY 1/20/2020
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal."
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today...

TRUSTWORTHINESS
Be honest - Don't deceive, cheat or steal - Be reliable, do what you say you'll do - Have the courage to do the right thing - Build a good reputation - Be loyal, stand by your family, friends, and country

Words worth wondering about
Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go, no one else. -- Les Brown

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. -- Leo Buscaglia
The Climb
Miley Cyrus
I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
You'll never reach it
Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking
But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going
And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

If we are making progress towards our goals, chances are we are winning and achieving something every day.
Memories we make together along the way are priceless. We may not reach all our goals, but everyday
we have a chance to get better, to learn something new, and to solve problems in different ways.
Living in and appreciating the present can sometimes be the greatest reward of all.
Believe in yourself, take on challenges. Dig deep, work hard to Achieve.
Never let anyone/anything bring you down. Don't give up. Keep trying and you will Succeed.

BELIEVE!  ACHIEVE!  SUCCEED!

Virne “Jackie” Mitchell, a pitcher, was the first woman in professional baseball. During an exhibition game in 1931, 17-year-old Mitchell struck out both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Her performance probably played a part in baseball commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis banning women from the sport later that year.

THE JOURNEY IS THE REWARD

Memories we make together along the way are priceless. We may not reach all our goals, but everyday
we have a chance to get better, to learn something new, and to solve problems in different ways.
