![]() Our class will hold our first “Flea Market Friday” in the classroom on September 13. The purpose is to use our Class Money to buy (and/or sell) little trinkets and other knick-knacks. During the process of buying and selling, students are required to calculate prices, add, subtract, divide, multiply, give correct change, and wisely use their money to make more money or to bargain and buy things they’d like to have. This is a great way to learn how to run a business and the “art” of selling. It is also a part of applying Common Core State Standards to real-life activities in the classroom. Students are NOT ALLOWED to bring anything of value, instead, they can bring old toys, playing cards, games, books, and other used “stuff” that they have and want to sell. Students can also sell special skills like coloring, drawings, paintings, making balloon animals, or other creations and even do demonstrations. We will have a fun learning experience in our first Flea Market. THANK YOU for your support.
