We are done with the state (CAASPP) testing for this year! I would like to thank all parents for your support and encouragements during testing days and not scheduling appointments or have any tardies. We almost had perfect class attendance for the duration of testing.
I am happy to announce that during testing, I observed that the students were trying their best and I am sure they all did well. Regardless, state testing is just one way to measure student’s progress and a small part of everything we have done this year in 5th grade.
The test results will be mailed to parents during the summer.
3rd Trimester Progress Report is going home with your child this Friday, April 26, 2019 showing the current status of your child in class. We will have many more assignments to complete. Please encourage your child to continue doing good work or try harder. Thank you!
For the 3rd Trimester, ALL students in class have signed a 100% Class AR Contract to achieve their goals. Please encourage and leave time for your child to read every afternoon to fulfill their AR 100% Contract. AR ends on May 10th.
Thank you for your support.
Our class is starting the State Report research assignment this week. The State Report consists of 5 parts: Research, Writing, Drawing, a Webpage to display state information, and finally, the students will produce a visitor’s guide Video to advertise their state. The report will account for part of the writing grade, speaking and listening grade, and the major Social Studies grade for the 4th Quarter.
This is an exciting and beneficial assignment where students will use multiple skills to complete the report.
The State Report is due on May 24.
To inform parents of what's going on in the classroom, curriculum, news, progress, and activities. Please ask for the Learning Schedule that goes home every Monday.
