Next week (October 1-5), most 5th graders will be at Science Camp, also known as San Joaquin County’s Outdoor Education.
Science Camp encourages children to experience a rich, science-based environment, as well as learn to appreciate the bounty and diversity of the earth by taking a responsible role in protecting natural resources. For students that are going to Science Camp, they will have an exciting time learning about nature.
I will be accompanying the students to Science Camp this year with Ms. Martinez. A total of 19 students in our class are going to Science Camp. Students not going will be joining all the other 5th graders in Ms. Attaway’s class for the week.
ACCELERATED READER UPDATE
As of last Friday, only 4 out of 32 students in class have met the mid-Trimester goals. If your child is still working on their goals, please encourage them to read for at least 30 minutes (or more) everyday. AR reading is a HOMEWORK for every day of the week. All students should know how to log in, check their point goals, and see the percentage progress toward their goal.
We will begin our Parent-Student-Teacher (PST) Conferences in the month of October. I sent home invitations along with the Progress Report last week. Please return the yellow form as soon as possible. Looking forward to meet with all parents and students.
Thank you for your support.
